It seems many audiophiles were concerned with the way XP handles and mixed sound with its infamous kmixer. So, many opted to bypass that at a deeper level by using both music players and sound cards that are ASIO-capable or -aware. Now that Vista has come along, MS seems to have corrected their ways, as many have believe that the built-in sound capabilities (DS player) within Vista is superior to the XP out of the box.
My question is: How does the BASS-player with its cross-fading abilities compare with the audio quality from a default Vista audio output? How about ASIO? Does anyone use that with Vista?
