MediaPortal-svn--09-17-2007--01-00-Rev15936

I have reported this error before, and got the answer that it should work in a newer svn... It also did, but only for one of the .asx files :)

I have added to .asx files (changed the names to .txt so I could upload them. just change it back to .asx)

The Cool Fm.asx works fine, but the p4.asx don't..

I have tryed to open the p4.asx files with Media Player, and in there it works just fine :)

MediaPortal-svn--09-16-2007--01-02-Rev15917

Hi

I have the same problem. The cool FM.asx works but not any other .asx files from DR radio in Denmark.
MP freezes for 10-15sec when selecting .asx file.

When I select the internal dshow player all my .asx files works.

Before I updated to 0.2.3.0 RC2 I used 0.2.2.0 (and MediaPortal-svn--04-03-2007--01-05-Rev13781) and “my radio” plug-in just work super.
What have been changes in for 2.2 to 2.3?

I hope you can find a solution because many of Danish radio stations uses .asx files and some of the stations you can only listen to through the internet (asx files).

Thanks in advance.

I can confirm this error, but after some research i think this has nothing to do with MediaPortal but with the BASS engine itself. I edited the P4.asx and deleted the third stream and now the file plays perfect. I will attach the edited P4 file. Hopefully this will help u a bit further.

with kind regards The666MAC

EDIT: Sorry Just realized that these .asx files used to play fine up until recently. Meaning the problem has been introduced in RC1 or RC2. Maybe the update of BASS introduced this? Or was MP's handling of .asx rewritten?

EDIT 2: Just tested removing 3rd entry from the .asx and that solved it... I'll post it in the thread below in case hwahrmann sees it there.

Please have a look here guys:
https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/bass_cant_play_mms_streams-t27059p3.html

Yes this was a wrong assumption: "As I posted in the thread BASS apparently has problems handling the http:// ref and format of these .asx files from DR.
If you try to play them in Winamp you will see same behaviour as BASS.
If you open them with WMP (dshow player) they will play fine.

Don't know if I'm completely wrong about it or not?"

Regarding MP hanging for 15 seconds I can say I experience the same, but if you use the dshow player you get the "buffering" animation which also "hangs" MP while shown.
This means that the only problem with the 15 sec. freeze is that the buffering animation isn't shown when using BASS.
