Hi

This is really a question for UK residents watching BBC HD on 28.2E I have just installed a dvb-s card a few days ago so am still working everything out. Tonight I watched the last episode of Survivors on BBC HD and there was an audio track (for the blind i presume) describing what was happening when there was no actors dialogue.

Simple question really how can i get rid of this? I am guessing there is another channel without the audio track but had a look but couldn't find any

Anybody have any ideas

Thanks
Mark

Hi Mark

As a guess this may be in one of the settings in the "Audio settings" tab of the Television\TV Client section in MediaPortal Configuration. It could be happening because I believe BBC HD broadcasts using Dolby Digitial whereas other channels are stereo.

I am not sure which setting you may need to change as I do not have DVB-S (so no BBC HD) at present (although I only have a CRT at the moment anyway). If you are using a remote control I think one of the coloured buttons switches between alternative audio streams.

I hope this helps.

You need to set the preferred audio to ac3 and then it will get round this issue. The first track is mpeg audio I think and sometimes is normal audio and sometimes is descriptive.
