Hi,

I now this topic was discused a few times here, but i would want to know, from side of the MP programmers (especially Frodo :) ) what is ACTUALLY the best codec to work with ( Speed, accuracy, deinterlacing).

And beside this: i tried the purevideo codecs on my 7600 GT, the picture on moving scenes was horrible, it's just me or problems with MP??

    Hi,

    I now this topic was discused a few times here,

    and you will most probably get the same answers as in all that topics.

    it depends on: what you want, on the displayed content like movies, shows, sports etc, on your setup meaning your gfx-card for example, maybe even your tvcard, it especcially depends on your TV, TFT, plasma, CRT? resolution, connection...... it also depends on... etc etc (-;

    besides, there arent THAT many of them out there, just try which one is the best for you. the ones most quoted as favourites are

    Nvidia
    Cyberlink
    Intervideo

    on my CRT cyberlink was the best, but now on my 37'' LCD nvidia is waaay better.....

    I am very disappointed about the Nvidia 7600 also 7300.

    which version of Cyberlink smnnekho?
    I have better results thit Intervideo on my 32" CRT than nvidia.

    (-; thats exatly what i meant. the experience differs from situation to situation. i lately used Pdvd7 (with my CRT) before i switched to my LCD and also to nvidia. but Pdvd8 is also quite good - i just seem to have more "noise" in the picture than with nvidia. all the others nearly look like crap for me (-;

    i am using MPV and MPA.
    The imagequality was very good on the CRT tv i had, and on the new 32" Philips LCD i still use MPV and MPA.

    If you want to watch HDTV which is using mpeg2, then you should use the commercial purevideo codec from nvidia, because they have a quite low CPU load.

    I found out that nvidia purevideo is the clearly the best for my config. It's way faster than any other codec that I have tested and it's zoom options somehow work better for me. And the video quality is still top notch :p
