If you think it could be Sony HD driver problem then, the goal is to not use (or the less possible) your soundcard.

Settings for that are not inside MP, it's windows settings but, you can change the default audio renderer Somewhere...

The best is in BIOS settings where you disable your soundcard.

With disabled, if you hear sound then sound is OFC given by HDMI.

Good free software also is fxsound.
