It seems to me from my experimentation that the interlace settings wherever you go inside MP config, makes no difference whatsoever. The only thing that does, is the interlace config under avivo in ATI ccc (8.12), where I have the option of bob or weave currently. With bob - horizontal thin lines such as top edge of sports scores look horribly flickery. with weave - I see lots of comb-teeth on fast moving edges.. so to try to improve..I will shortly try the registry hacks mentioned elsewhere to make additional ATI de-interlace modes available. What modes are recommended - I have SD (576i PAL TV) and HD (1080i TV - BBCHD) as my main content types?alternatively, I can consider x3/x4 CPU or additional GPU board if anyone has definitively proven that this helps?as another approach, is there any way to to get the TV to do the deinterlace work instead? clearly the TV can do this with interlaced signals from its native tuners. I have the option of setting 25i (@1920x1080) as the output mode in ATI ccc - when I do this the TV tells me its getting a 1080i signal. But the bob/weave setting in ATI ccc still has definate effect - so am guessing that perhaps I am getting a de-interlace (on the htpc, bob or weave) followed by a re-interlace (on the htpc) to get the 25i output followed by a deinterlace (on the TV) to actually display on the panel in this setup? which is clearly not ideal...ta,Ina</blockquote>
