Best setup for MediaPortal (1 Viewer)

Hello,
I'm currently trying to decide what my home media solution is going to be. I've tried xbmc, plex, and wmc but none of the pull all the things that I want together into one package. Mediaportal looks as though it might. I'm looking to be able to store my ripped DVD's and Bluray's and also watch and record live tv. I'll be doing all of this with a dedicated htpc. I need to be able to setup other clients within my home network and access all of the data stored on my htpc. Ideally the library would be synced across all clients so that when I start watching something in one room I can pick it up in the next. I also want to be able to stream my recorded shows and stored movie along with live tv to my cellphone or tablet when outside my local network. Does MediaPortal allow for this setup? Also, if you're using MediaPortal with multiple clients within your home, what clients are you using? Other htpc's?

Hi Stephen,

This is my setup >>here<< I use this all the time for live TV etc. I have been running this setup now for about 10 months and it has worked well. There is the occasional glitch, but a simple restart on the server, or client seems to resolve that.

As you will see I stream to a Samsung tablet - and an also do the same to a Samsung Android phone. This is done via Wifi on my home network. I use the MPExtemded plugin to do this, and I think you can set this to stream outside of your local network too. You can find more about MPExtended & WebMediaPortal >>here<<

From reading your question i would say you can do everything you have asked except for " library would be synced across all clients so that when I start watching something in one room I can pick it up in the next " as far as i am aware you can not currently do this, you can watch the same movie etc but not pick up from the point in the movie you left it.
Someone please correct me if i am wrong there. And Welcome
