Best Skin?? (1 Viewer)

Can someone tell me what is the best looking and most functional skin for media portal right now ive been using media protal for a couple days trying to find the best one. Cause allot of them ive downloaded all get "this skin is old and may cause errors"

both skins look really awesome

do you mean the message "this skin is outdated"?

StreamedMP has a setup.exe which is very beginner friendly
it also installs useful plug-ins (moving pictures and tvseries)

the thing is i used xbmc for a while i liked it but i found it very difacult to get things the way i wanted them to look.. but with media portal its been prettye asy since the start.

I assume that you have installed MediaPortal 1.0:

open the reference.xml in your skin folder and check the version number at the top of the source code

the version has to be the same as mediaportal (1.0.0.0) - so just change it if necessary ...



with StreamedMP you won't get such an error if you've installed MP 1.0

Yeap I installed 1.0

is it easy to setup backdrops etc.

for Mediaportal 1.0 with 16:9 screen
in my opinion these are the best
- Monochrome 2.4
- Black & White 1080 v1.1
- Xface 1.7

Although only the Monochrome (from the above) has correct support for the X10 Home automation plug in that I use...

Monochrome also offers many different screen set ups...

thanks guys ill try them out tonight..

The only thing is i want to set it up like a film strip at the lower part of my screen so that way you can see huge HD backdrops if thats possible.
