Best video codec for High Definition video is ???

I was using Nvidia's Purvideo with MediaPlayer 10 and it worked great. Iam using a 6600Gt and a Mobile barton at 2ghz.

With the 6600gt iam getting hardware Acceleration on the MPEG2 files that support it and low cpu usage as well.

Problem is when i use Purvevideo with MP it dont like it much. I get some weird shit happening. Stuff that make sme have to reboot the pc just so i can use MP at all.

Anyways i chnaged to dscaler for all my 720p and 1080i and Xvid/Divx movie/video playing. And it seems to be stable now. Though iam not sure how Dscaler stacks up with Purevideo in High Definition quality playback wise. It seems to look as good as the purvideo playback ??

Iam using a HTPC which is conecte to my HD tv via component. Actually its my ALL in one PC. Just HTPC usage at the moment till i get a HTPC case to build my HTPC in :p

Does dscaler use the 6600gt chip for hardware playback help ?

Thanks for any info. MP is a sweet HTPC software. Just hope i can get it stable so i can use it :)

Thanks.

/PS Also would not mind knowing what codec is good for HD Tv viewing as i have a HD Tuner card in my PC as well. At the moment iam using Dsacler as well. Problems with the Nvidia driver same thing :(

Okies.

Id suggest reinstalling the nvidia codec (and make sure yours is up to date) and/or updating your video drivers because apart from being the best (imho, but there are a lot more than me) it should also work flawlessly.
