    Hi,
bought a Blackgold 6in1 card hoping to replace my Hauppauge and Pinnacle cards...
Installed using the latest drivers and shows up in Device Manager as one device and with 6 tuners in TV Server configuration.
Mapped the channels that I already have to the respective tuners (SAT and Analogue) and tested...
SAT is working fine but Analogue doesn't ....
Tried then to configure it as Hybrid card but didn't get it working (not sure how this should be configured - tried several different combinations and tried to follow the guide in the Wiki... maybe somebody could roughly outline how I should set it up if needed).
Installed Cyberlink PowerCinema (because mentioned on BlackGold page) and that can use the the analogue tuner no problem... so the card and connection are OK...

I have attached the TV and Error.log and see some errors there about mpeg encoder?? not sure if that is related...

Was in contact with other people who use the card but only for SAT and DVB-T and they are ok and didn't need to configure it as hybrid...
Is there anybody out there who is using the analogue part of that card?

    Thanks

    ?

is nowbody else using the card for analogue?
Could somebody have a look at the logs and maybe figure out whats going on?

Read somewhere that a software encoder is required because the card doesn't come with a hardware encoder ....
Does that make sense - anybody any experience with this sort of thing, what would I need to do to get this working?

    Any help please!!!

Try downloading and installing windvr, it will install a software encoder, see if that makes the difference

:D for the hint - that go it working, I might need to find another encoder though, it didn't seem to work very reliable. But at least I am on the right track now!!!!

One issue I had was that it found the channels ok but only 1 of them had sound?? When I use the same channels with a Hauppauge card the sound is OK ... where do I need to start digging?

    Thanks

    Hi there,

This is a little off topic, but I too have a Blackgold 6in1 card.
The problem I'm having is that after an hour the pc dies with that card installed. Tried it 2 times with brand new pc's right out of the box. (Send them both back and got new ones ;)
As they were brand new, I couldn't check if it was the PS or the MoBo that went dead, didn't want to break warranty... ;)

The powersupply in both pc's is 250W, perhaps that's a little short?

I should mention that a Hauppauge HVR-1100 is also installed and working perfectly.

Anyone has any ideas on what could cause this?

I tried several times to contact Blackgold but up til now no answer.

    Thanks,
    Frank.

    Wow, that is serious ...
Was talking yesterday with Blackgold about other issue and during that conversation we talked about powersupplies - they recommend 450W or more but I think that is around the issue of the card being lost sometimes ....
Not sure if that helps but just FYI.

How did you manage talking to Blackgold?
I can't find a phonenumber on their website...

BTW, if the pc is working, quality is excellent, for an hour....

I guess I will buy a 550W or more powersupply, the problem is that I'm not 100% sure that it is the powersupply that give's up, it could be the main board...
I'll have to find out the hard way.
Anyway, I can't sent that pc back for the third time, they will not accept it I think.

    Thanks,
    Frank

I was sending mails back and forth and got tired of it and send my phone number, was probably lucky that somebody called actually back... guy was nice and knew what he was talking about...

I am not an expert but I would think the motherboard would burn up before the power supply does .... or maybe something doesn't work right when there isn't enough juice... but I might be wrong.
If it blows up the motherboard than there must be something wrong with the card... maybe you should return that before you try it again. Don't you maybe have another older PC with better power supply to test?

So are you using SAT, DVB-T or Analog? Just, I am battling with switching from one SAT to another - probably more a MP issue than the card because it works for scanning channels but not for viewing (have another thread here in the forum for that...)

Let us know how you're getting on with your "killer card" ;)

I ordered a 650W powersupply yesterday, will keep you posted as to the result with my "killer card"...

I have 6 old pc's laying around, but none of them has pci-express, so I'm gonna test it the hard way :D
