Blank screen at the end of DVD playback (1 Viewer)

Hi,

Have been using MP for some time now and working great with one minor issue. Have ripped DVD's to an external hard disk as movie only using DVD Decryopter and DVD Shrink. Using My Films plugin am able to scan DVD using coverart and launch directly - all of which working fine. At the end of each DVD though i just get a blank screen and have to press Back to get back to the My Films menu to select the next film. Whilst this is OK for me its not always intuitive for others. Have I done something wrong copying the disks or is there a configuration setting that will automatically "stop" the film once its finished?

Am currently using MP 1.0 RC3 and My Films plugin 4.7.6 however I've had this issue for 2 years now with the earlier versions!

I'll just jump in and say you're not alone. As near as I can tell, this is a product of using ISOs, since any other file type finished and goes back to the menu. I've just learned to accept it and hope that someday it's better, since I can't find any settings to change it.

i have the same issue.

i ripped my dvd's also to HDD (IFO/VOB files)
when my movie is finished i also have a blank screen.
i don't think this is a bug.
but i would be a nice feature if it jumps back to my movies when a movie is finished.

I had no problems playing ISO DVD files, using deamon tools, with RC1. But, I just got RC4 - and now, when I stop a DVD playing (or it finished) the area of the screen that was playing the film remains black. So if the film was full screen, then the entire screen is black. If it was playing on part of th screen (e.g. 4:3 moive) then that area remains black but I'm able to see MP on the left and right edges. Although the screen maybe black, or partially blackened, I can still navigate MP blindly, as long as I can recall how many clicks up down left right etc. MP need to be closed down and restarted to get it back to normal (until the next DVD ISO is played that is)

Same here. As a workaroung I go back to the main menu before stopping a DVD. Seems to work.

Changing the DVD codec from MPV to cyberlink sorted the problem. I wanted to use MPV decoder, but nevermind.

I cant go to DVD menu. I have Microsoft MCE Remote but most of the buttons dont work. Just play, stop, forward back etc. Guess it can be configured somehow

...now that I have changed the codec though - the menus in a DVD dont work. Trailers seem ok, as do main film, but black screen for menu

If you have a copy of PDVD7 laying around that works perfectly, if cyberlink is selected as navigator, tourettes was looking at adding support if possible for PDVD8's navigator to be added.

I have cyberlink 7.3 installed. When I tried that navigator, DVD's didnt play at all. So have returned to MP navigator, and cyberlink vid.. even though the instruction in the MP conf tool is to match the same vid and audio codecs witht he selected navigator.

Hi All,

I get a blank screen when I stop a ripped video or DVD and have to "blindly" navagate my way out of MP and go back in as outlined in this forum. Tried the Cyberlink option mentioned, but still no luck?

Did anybody get around this problem? If so, which specific option did you change??
