Hi! First of all, excellent job, Been following you guys since RC2 and I just love MP!
I have a strange problem, I had RC3 installed and everything was allright, but on 1.0, when playing any video (720p, 1080p or any other resolution) the screen turns blank, the movie/series play, the sounds is ok, I can stop the film, etc but the screen is blank. If I pause the ilm, I can see that image on the screen, but when pressing play the screen goes blank again!
I didn't have this problem on RC3, actually, I uninstalled 1.0, installed back RC3, and could see everything fine, installed 1.0 (twice: once "clean" and once on RC3) and the problem keeps.
I have the latest drivers and codecs (Vista codec pack, ffdshow, Divx, video card, etc) for everything... not a big deal because as I don't have TV-server or cable, RC3 was running fine, but it just sounds funny... I attach the logs both for RC3 and 1.0 (hope they are correctly done)
Any suggestion? :-S

Hi,

I have the same problem with one one of my client pc's.
This computer is running an ATI 1650Pro.

Like you I have checked codecs. Media Portal has been installed a couple of times clean skin.

I think the issues may lie with the video driver as I can use diferent video codecs with the same result.

Btw: Using Reclock? (I remember this causing similar behavior here)

Do you mean overclocking? In that case, nope (too advanced for me!)

No, but I am using FFDSHOW for wmv files.
    Maybe its interfering?
Sorry for posting twice, I don't think ffdshow is interferring, the first time it happened to me I didn't have it installed, only the vista codec pack. currently I have vista codec pack, ffdshow and divx 7 (installed in that order... call me crazy but I think they are interferring among themselves, my pc is behaving strangely since then... but it may also Vista...)

Hmm.... Vista Codec Pack already includes FFDShow, I think. Why the double install?

dont know, thought it would be good but youre right it includes ffdshow ive removed all codecs, reinstalled only vista codec pack and rc3 fine 1.0.... gives problems! funny uh?

Has anyone solved this problem? I have the same symptoms. I had everything working fine then this happened all the sudden within the same day of installing. I followed all the instructions on the setup for MediaPortal so I have those suggested codecs. I uninstalled everything and tried it fresh, but the problem persists.

I have 1.0 like u guys. I wrote up a list of my specs, but I don't know how to show it...

One connection I can see is that I have an ATI x1600 Pro HDMI...could it be our ATI cards or drivers?

Just was able to resolve the problem for myself. Turns out that my newer ATI drivers were the problem, installed 8.12 and everything is fine for me now.
