Blu-Ray / HD DVD plugin for Arcsoft player (7 Viewers)

Sorry if this is a bit off topic but I'm considering a blu-ray drive for my HTPC. My main concern is HDCP and all the copy protections. Will I be able to just play back, not copy, rented and bought titles without the use of 3:rd party software like anydvd hd?

If installing arcsoft player along with this plug-in, will it do?

note: using VGA between HTPC and LCD TV. I don't know if that breaks HDCP.

Using VGA will break HDCP, so then you'll definitely need AnyDVD HD.

Tourettes, thanks for your efforts! Are you going to rename the plugin to something like: Blu-ray external program starter, It can be used to start other program's as wel like I did with a modified HD starter program and PowerDVD. It works perfectly and seamless on my system.

Can you make autoplay for DVD movies too? or can i do something to add it, because probarly i;m the only one who wants this.

I guess I could add that feature.

Ummm... sorry, looks like it's not possible to add such feature without changes into MediaPortal itself (it is not DVD inserted event to the plugins).

Also Arcsoft player has pretty bad MPEG2 decoding quality (no HW deinterlace will be used for example). So, I would recommend to try to solve the DVD playback issues so that you can use MP's internal player.

Unfortunately those changes would be pretty big / risky so those cannot be done as the benefit would be really small.

If the daemon tools is set to trigger autoplay event then the plugin should be able to start the player automatically (at least it works on my dev pc ).

If you extract the files with winrar you can set it up manually.
