Hi All,

I thought I'd give Media Portal a try out after becoming annoyed with WMCE inability to deal with refresh switching.

I'm having a few issues getting my bluray iso's working and searching through the forum for help is coming up with responses from 2008/2009. I've ripped my blurays to disk using Anydvd hd.

I've set:

General: Virtual Drive : AutoMount: and path to Virtual CLone drive exe
DVD Player : Use external player : and pointed to TMT.exe
Video folders are set and Moving Pictures installed.

I can see the movies and it mounts the movie ok once I select but when I come to play the movie, it fails. MP locks up and it appears that a dos window is flashing up, crashing, staring up, crashing. I can't see what is on it and the window is in the background . Eventually I have to kill MP.

Could someone give me a breakdown of what I need to setup to get my bluray iso's working from a mounted drive within TMT.

I did read in an old post there were issues about killing TMT once the movie is over (can't find that post again). Is this an issue still or will it return to MP and kill TMT?

Also, is there a way to move Plugins to the main menu? I'd like my movies in the main menu rather than having to go through plugins.

Cheers.

Try setting this to daemon exe instead of the clone drive exe(its in the same folder).

Hope this helps

Thanks Rich,

I had already selected that....but stupidly hadn't actually selected the drive letter

:D

The flashing was just the dos daemon tool stuck in a loop looking for the drive (I think) .

I assume that you use TMT etc, is there a method to make the transition a little smoother. ie at the moment, it mounts the disk, opens up explorer window for the mounted disk and then starts TMT . Can you stop the explorer window popping up?

How do you go about exiting/returning to Media portal once you finish watching the movie - is there a nice return method? I spotted an old thread that suggested mapping a remote button to alt-f4 to close tmt ( or eject). Is this the best method?

I think some more playing around is required.

Cheers

Sorry I dont use TMT coz of that problem of not being able to close. I just use blu-ray handler which works well but you dont get the any extras or any menus just the movie.

There was a pluggin for TMT and powerdvd which I think might close TMT or powerdvd when you press back on the remote but not sure I haven't tried it for a while.
If you use Moving pictures in the configuration under the about tab your see at the bottom adavnced settings.
In there near the bottom under Bluray/HD-dvd play back you can change "use external player" to true and then put the full addresss to TMT in the external player path but make sure you put all the address including the uMCEplayer.exe on the end.
This only uses a external player for blurays then instead of all videos.

As for explorer loading up, your need to disable autoplay for dvds in windows.
Depending on what version of windows your using this would be in different places.
In windows 7 autoplay settings are in control panel or you can disable it when the auto play message comes up too.

For the pluggins to be in the main just right click on the pluggin in mediaportal configuration and select listed in home rather than pluggins.

Hope that helps you a bit more

Appreciated. I'll give this a test later once the Mrs has gone to bed and left me to play ;)
