[solved] Blu Rays don't play anymore after update to 1.16/1.17 (1 Viewer)

Hi there, after update I'm not able to get this running again.
the OSD error Msg is:
"unable to play: index
video codec: AVC"
MP Log attached.

I've already de- and re installed LAV codecs etc but nothing helped. Any advice is very much appreciated. Cheers Volker

[2017-07-17 12:25:31,886] [Error ] [MPMain ] [ERROR] - BDPlayer: Exception while creating DShow graph Die COM-Klassenfactory für die Komponente mit CLSID {79A37017-3178-4859-8079-ECB9D546FEB2} konnte aufgrund des folgenden Fehlers nicht abgerufen werden: 80040154 Klasse nicht registriert (Ausnahme von HRESULT: 0x80040154 (REGDB_E_CLASSNOTREG)).

This means that MP's BDReader component failed to register/load.
Probably you are missing a prerequisite version of the Visual C++ Redistributable.
MP's installer normally takes care of installing all the prerequisites. So, is it possible that you uninstalled a version of VC++ Redist by yourself because you thought you didn't need it?

I haven't uninstalled anything but will check this. May it got lost for any reason during the update to 1.16. Will get this package Download Visual C++ Redistributable für Visual Studio 2015 from Official Microsoft Download Center and try to sort it by installing it (again). Will report back.

Have had the same issue. The reason was a corrupted index.bmdv file.

un- and installed the 2015 CC++ but the problem stays the same....

copied the last error log in. Any more ideas what to do?

Try to play the mts2 file with another player or try the index.bmdv file with another player. If it doesn´t work, the file is corrupted. My experience.

Installing the missing prerequisite will not be enough.
After installing, you must also register (regsvr32) the BDReader component (BDReader.ax).

It might be best/easiest to reinstall MP in this case.

you are perfect right, has taken only about 30 Minutes and all Probs are gone :)
