Blue 3 Feedback - and a request (1 Viewer)

Hi all,

Now I know skins are a matter of taste, but I really do not like Blue 3. It feels rather amateurish / clunky and it is very evident that it was worked on by a developer not a designer. The border around the highlighted element is very rectangular and has a very 80s feel and the silly creature logos just look amateurish. The extra animations that occur when a menu is accessed (causing the right list to pivot backwards slightly) also feels garish and over the top. I like animations but this just looks a bit cheesy.

That said, there are a number of things I like about Blue 3, particularly (and I know it is small) the complete highlighting of recordings scheduled in a different colour - I think that really stands out and is a great idea. The layout of the TV guide is good and is nicely proportioned.

My request is simple, PLEASE do not drop Blue 2 from the official releases - I notice it is no longer included as of 1.0.0.0 RC 3. I don't wish to cause any offense but this post - but I am sure I am not the only one who preferred the overall style of Blue 2, please do not drop it altogether.

Hi Kilo,

Your point is very valid but I'd be of the opposite opinion, I rather quite enjoy the new skin, its more fun and adds morale to the the project, with less bugs occuring and the package developing more successfully it compliments the non commerical side of of HTPC's.

Also the fact it made my mother laugh at how ridiciouls mepo looks I taught was great, it unconsciencly got her invovled interactively, hopefully it'll make her less stressful using the program too. I cant wait to unleash the xmas add on, on to her.. ITS CLASS.
