Hi,

Having this weird problem. When watching HDTV, whether its live or prerecorded, the sound buzzes, I get a stop error, and a restart.

Watching DVD's, downloaded video, playing music, etc works perfectly. The machine runs fine forever until I start watching TV. This happens both in MP and the Winfast PVR2 software.

The fact that media portal records full episodes in the background without restarting leads me to believe its a codec problem, and not a hardware issue.

Any help would be great! I'm a newb when it comes to codecs etc.

Regards,

Bryan

Bluescreens are invariably low level driver problems. Make sure you have the latest ASUS chipset drivers and Nvidia drivers.

BTW, WRT your system spec, the H.264 codec is set in the same config screens as the MPEG-2 codec. By default it would be MPV. H.264 is what most high definition streams are encoded with. However, in Australia, our HDTV uses MPEG-2, so you are probably using ffdshow to decode it. A lot of other countries are using H.264 for both SD and HD TV.
