Most modern GFX cards like Nvidia/ATI have "Purevideo" or "AVIVO" to enhance the video picture quality.

I am looking for a mainboard which features a socket to run a Turion or Core Duo and does have such an onboard video function.

Does anybody know one?

(I guess only the latest models of Nvidia/ATI chips do have this video functions, so its not just "ATI onboard")

Ah, .. and DVI out needs to be there!

Avivo isn't part of the ATi 200 chipset. I think it was planned for the next generation.
I don't think all the PureVideo features are in the current NVidia chips either but I'm not sure.

I guess you are looking for a energy effecient system. In that case; AMD have a series called Energy Effecient - with a watt rating of 35W (typical) - paired with a 6150 mobo (mATX only) it shoul furfill you wishes.

The lists from ATI/NVIDIA site are great,
But it does not answer all questions.

Yes, I am going for a low energy system to have less heat/noise..
But I do not want to miss the fancy video features some new gfx cips offer.

As far as I can see from Nvidia site the gfx cards featuring all HDTV and purevideo stuff are 6800 (and above).

I guess the 6150 has only limited functions!? And DVI is a MUST HAVE!..

I was going for a board with 479y socket (for Core Duo) or a Athlon board where I stick a Turion on.. then I would add a 6800 series card from Nvidia,.. I was wondering if there is anything with just these things on board?

Or do we have to wait for next gen boards?!

    Okay said:
    http://www.nvidia.com/page/purevideo_support.html

6150 is ok.... if you need bether then go for a different gfx (stand alone)
Just because the pure video drivers recognize the 6150 does NOT mean it supports all the features of the 6800 series and up!
Notice that a certain de-interlacing mode is missing if you want to do HDTV and until we know someone has that working I'd use caution in planning an HDTV setup.

It depends on what video features you'll need. A DVI output doesn't mean it will do everything you want, just display what it can over a DVI connection.

DFI has an ATi board with DVI, decent audio and Gigabit lan:

BTW, I think the next generation of onboard video from ATi, NVidia and S3 will all support HDTV well. S3 might actually have the best solution along those lines at the moment but I can't find anything that uses it at the moment.
