Hi mm

I'm afraid I cannot help you with the radio part, since they are not transmitting radio over DVB in my area.

At the moment I have it working quite well together with DVBLink (using latest version - Server is 3.2.1 and TVSource is 3.2.2).
Though it is a very timeconsuming task to configure mapping between different cards so a native support in MP would be preferred.

I am using an Anysee E7 T2C USB connected device with the latest drivers (20110421). Strangely enough the Anysee-TC Viewer that comes with the product does not work either with encrypted channels.
This device works very well for all the unencrypted channels directly with MediaPortal (Without DVBLink) with the latest BDA driver.

I am not a very techincal guy when it comes to all the types of Cams, CI interfaces etc. There must be a way to find out how DVBLink is adressing this device and add it into MePo as well. Anyway that is a wish from me :) I guess the DVB-T2 standard is spreading and becoming more commonly used, so I think more cards / external boxes with this specification will emerge on the market.
I don't think it is running MPEG5 so my guess is that the only thing I need is the support of the device / CI interface / CAM.

Glad to be of any mor assistance if needed!

Best regards

Ulf

Thanks for the testing and information Ulf :D

We'll at least add support for the TV channels...

Now I got everything to work with with 1.2.0 Beta and I only have one annyoance. When I am watching encrypted HD channels the volume is pending up and down during trasmission. Do you (or anyone else) have a clue what could be wrong? I am using PowerDVD 10 codecs for both Video and Audio.
Also some channels are shown in a "squared" format - ex. Kanal 5 HD - it's not stretching the picture . And it does the same if I preview it in VLC via DVBLink.

I have the same problem on MTVN HD and National Geographic HD, not on SVT1 and 2, TV3, TV4 or Kanal 5. I'm using Shark007 (based on FFDshow) and CoreAVC, PowerDVD has never been closed to my HTPCs (same thing on two different setups). Funny, I have Kanal 5 HD running on the kitchen TV and the commercials has the sound error but not the show. I will not tell you that it's AFHV since it's embarrassing to confess that I watch it... :)

On the other hand I don't have that problem, Kanal 5 HD is stretching like the other channels.

Could it be because of changes between 5.1 and 2 channel audio, or perhaps you only have a 2 channel speaker system but the content is 5.1 channel?

I know very little about DVBLink. You need to look for an "aspect ratio" correction setting there, which I don't think I have seen. Alternatively you could try the MediaPortal Intelligent Frame Correction plugin. Instructions for installing a version that is compatible with 1.2.0b are -->here<--...

You are perfectly correct that I am using a 2 speaker setup but that wouldn't explain why the unencrypted HD channels not have this problem and the sound info for both encrypted and unencrypted types are LATMAAC. Do you perhaps a suggestion on a component to downscale 5.1 to 2 channels that I can test? As I wrote I am using PowerDVD 10 as both video and audio codec and am very satisfied with the result.

Regarding the squared format it looks like not all shows are having this problem. I thought all data would be stretched?

Does all your shows on fx Kanal 5 HD have stretched format - or some have the squared one?

    Best regards

I'm not able to receive the channels that you are watching so I can't test this myself. Are you sure that all of them have 5.1 channels - in New Zealand we get channels that are HD video but still only 2 channel audio? Alternatively, perhaps some of them have multiple audio "tracks" - if they do then you can switch between them by using the TV actions menu (audio language setting).

Also, I didn't think it was possible to use the PowerDVD codec for LATM AAC in MediaPortal. I know that the Monogram codec which is installed with MediaPortal is able to downmix to stereo - configuration for that is under the "codecs and renderer" section (wiki page -->here<--). Use "mix to stereo (2 channels)"...

First of all - my bad - of course PowerDVD don't have the ability to play AAC - the only choice I have is what you said, Monogram.
I have it configured to downmix to 2 channels, but still the volume is pending heaily.
The channels with problems only have 1 soundtrack unfortunately, so I cannot use another.

If I try to play the channels in the preview directly from DVBLink on my TV server with VLC player, I also have the same result - volume changes in encrypted but not unencrypted channels.
In VLC the audio codec for both types shows as "MPEG AAC Audio (mp4a)"
So question is: Is it DVBLink that causes this or the hardware (Anysee E7 T2C) or is it a driver problem?
Do you know of any other codec than Monogram that can be tested?

This is unlikely to be a driver problem. I can't tell how bad it is because I haven't viewed the channels, however could it just be the channel provider who is not providing very good quality?

Absolutely. You can try the DivX codec - the download from -->here<-- is free. :D

DivX Codec seemed to be the solution to my sound problem. Now the volume level is stable on all HD channels transmitting AAC Audio. - Thanks!

I now have another problem - I have a paid subscription to Boxer and was able to watch all channels until yesterday. Then suddenly all encrypted HD channels ceased to function, except for Kanal 5 HD. I can watch all encryped and unencrypted SD channels and all unencrypted HD. Do you have the same?
