Hi all, This problem affects playback of i.e. divx, xvid and mkv movie files. When I playback those files in windows media player the brightness and contrast of the image is perfect. However when I playback the video files in MP the image seems to be to bright and there is not as much contrast as should be. I tried to use different codecs for playback like MPV, ffdshow, ffdshow raw but no difference. With TV playback I can set brightness and contrast (in MP config). Is there something possible like that for playback of movies too ? Thanks in advance. (I am using the latest stable release of MP 0.2.2.0) . . . In the mean time I installed the 2.3.0 RC1 version and still have the same problem. I see that when I take over the screen of my PC with VNC the following happens: when i play a movie with media player i dont see the video on the remote pc (the one which is takeing over the mediaportal pc) when i play a movie with media portal I see on both screens the video. Does it has something to do with DirectX ? I installed the 9c version. Rick
