I have an aging Capture card - Brooktree BtB78. I am only now getting around to trying out PVR systems. Linux based systems recognize the card, but I much prefer the interface and usage of MediaPortal. Sadly, I cannot convince WinXP to recognize and use this card. Thus MediaPortal tells me that I have no cards available. Is there anything I can do - short of buying a more up to date card?

sigh ... I fear you are right. I tried those drivers already. They use to work for me under Win98, but I am having no success with XP. I might just have to shelf this until I can get a real card.

.... if anyone has a miracle solution ....

short answer: Brooktree BtB78 = crapy because of software coding, try getting a haupage HW card for 35 Euro's new of even cheaper 2nd hand
