Bug? Display of partial future recording (1 Viewer)

Hi all

When I upgraded from an old version to 1.1.1 I was pleased with the way the EPG shows a diagonal red/green block for off-time recordings.

Unfortunately it makes me paranoid because it doesn't take into account the pre-record and post-record settings, so although I might record an extra 15 minutes either side of the program it still says I'm missing some.

Is this a bug?

Thanks

This is normal and is by design. If EPG were to take into account the pre/post record time, then it would mark adjacent programs as partial recordings.

    Also consider the following:
There is a show at 17:45-18:45. You have a schedule at 18:00-19:00 with a pre-record of 15 minutes. If EPG were to take the pre-record into account it would mark the show as a full recording, when in fact it probably wouldn't be because it may run earlier (say at 17:38) in which case you still have missed the start of it. The idea of pre-post/record is that you expect the broadcaster to start the show up to a certain number of minutes earlier or later than scheduled and that time difference is unpredictable (broadcasters often do this specifically to prevent you from recording the show)

I see your point, however I suffer from wanting to record a couple of things that are never scheduled at the same time each week - they always move back and forth a couple of minutes and the "partial recording" display is pretty much all I ever see for them. It's actually less work to set up a once-only recording each week for these programs than have to dig around and calculate if my weekly recording will get the whole program each time.

Is it possible then to edit the start/finish times of the recording (as opposed to the pre and post record settings) in order to ensure that the "core" time always includes the whole program? Or is there a better way to schedule a regular recording in this circumstance? Thanks

Your only option in that case would be one of the "Everytime on..." types of schedule, but I suppose it didn't work for you (the title is changing?)
