I'm going to build my first HTPC.
I have the following hardware:
Chaintech 7NJS Zenith
AMD Athlon xp 1800+
Chaintech Geforce FX 5700 ultra 128 mb
NEC DVD-RW ND4551A
1 gig ram
Around 100 gig HD total on 2 WD disks, and 1 on 320 gig WD that is not mounted.
Going to try the SPDIF on the motherboard and see what happends. If this is not working, i'm going to buy a new soundcard. Which card?
The hardware I have now is working ok, watch DVD and play music without no problems.
The first thing i'm going to change is the case.
I have an old hightower now.
I was thinking about Antec Overture: http://www.netshop.no/aspx/produkt/prdinfoVnet.aspx?plid=16106 or are there some others I should take a look at?
I must have a TV card to, must be able to watch and record something else at the same time. Is Hauppauge a good card?
I don't have so much money now, just bought a new nice LCD TV
If I had some extra money now, I would bought a complete new HTPC.
