Currently working on a new file server, but I'm having some problems deciding what to do. I have a dedicated file server and a dedicated TV-server, but I also want a solution that can do on-the-fly transcoding of my movies/tv-series and stream them over the web when I'm not home. I'm currently trying to decide if I want to run the web service on my file server or on my TV-server.
On my new file server I'm currently trying to decide between the Xeon E5506 and the Xeon E5520. Anyone know if the E5506 can handle on-the-fly transcoding if I end up runing the web service on my file server? (It's a 2.13Ghz quad core.)
