I did a new install of W7, installed MP after that and did a complete new channelscan with the Caiway (Netherlands) file. Unfortunately a lot of channels were missing, about 20%. I found some info here: CAIWAY | Particulier | Televisie | Diensten | Installeren to scan for a transponder list, so I did that through the advances tuning option. Almost all channels were found!

Still, a lot of channels did not tune. I compared the frequencies of these non-working channels to this list: DVB-C nl-caiw digitaal radio/tv zender lijst and found out a lot of channels that did not tune had the wrong frequencies!
I updated these channels one by one manually by scanning the correct individual frequencies and the non-tuning channels were finally updated correctly.
Now only some channels still don't work. To be specific: Comedy central, Eurosport HD, FOX news and Omrop Fryslan (and probably other channels I don't watch) but that's another story.

Now, I can't give you a new Caiway tuningfile because I don't know how to update that, but I can provide the correct channelfrequencies for Caiway Midden-Holland. If somebody could take the time to update the caiwayfile, I'm more than happy to help and provide the needed files because I think an updated Caiway file would save a lot of people a lot of time and frustration.

I did the pre-work, now please help to improve the caiway file for others! :)

    You can use Notepad to edit the tuningfiles. You just need to know the frequencies of the different transponders.
    The file is found here: C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\TuningParameters\dvbc\The Netherlands.caiway.xml
    and looks like this:
    ...
    <DVBCTuning>
    <Frequency>538000</Frequency>
    <ModulationType>Mod64Qam</ModulationType>
    <SymbolRate>6900</SymbolRate>
    </DVBCTuning>
    ...

    I compared the tuning details with the site you mentioned, but no frequencies are missing. (The Netherlands.caiway file of 12-02-2010).

    What I see is that for your region sometimes different frequencies are used than for the other regions. This can be the reason that some channels cannot be tuned, because when a channel is found on 2 different frequencies, MediaPortal will group these channels.

    Can you go to the TV Channel list in the TV Server and check or you have double provider entries for some channels? (twice caiw?).

    No, no double provider entries.
    Take for instance Omrop Fryslan. It hs only one provider, if i edit the channel it also has only one entry and with the correct tuningdata.
    In fact, the tuning data you can set in MP is exactly th same as DVBViewer PRO finds it, and in that software all channels that don't workin MP, do work in DVBViewer!

    So it must be a specific MP bug or problem...

    Perhaps it is time to start posting logging then. Statements like "it is not working" won't help you any further.

    Perhaps not, because that would make me guilty of double posting and I get blamed for that:
