This post is more of a vent than anything in the hope I see what Ive missed as I write it down ! Feel free to say if I do miss something. Anyway, am I wrong in thinking doing the following should just 'work'. A freshly formatted drive with a re-install of XP Pro with all the updates and all the latest drives needed for the hardware I have. I install the basics such as chrome, microsoft security essentials, 7zip. Then Acronis True Image 2011 and take an image. I then install MP 1.1.1 and StreamedMP from the download link on the main MP page and dont touch any config settings other than what Im writing now. I open the TV server config and click on the DVB-T card and scan to get the Freeview channels. I hit 'preview' on TVNZ6 thinking it would be fine as I havent loaded any HD codecs yet. The preview window opens eventually but is completely grey and it locks the machine up entirely. Eventually after about a minute the machine reboots itself. So I download and install the SAF5.0. I then receive the key to the unlocked version. So I install that, re-install SAF5.0 as it tells me too and I set up the codecs exactly as the first post on the SAF thread. I then preview TVONE. This time I get the window with a black screen. Again nothing else and again the machine reboots itself after a minute or so. So I put an .mkv moive onto the drive and point Moving Pictures to it. It downloads the correct information so I try playing that from within Moving Pictures. The screen doesnt move from the fanart and again after a minute it reboots. Am I wrong in thinking a simple install of MP 1.1.1 with streamedMP should at least allow me to watch TVNZ6 straight off the bat with no other configuration necessary ?
