Without wanting to turn this into a FTR thread (aaahh.. what the hell, is there even a "theme" in this thread apart from the fact that we all have a blue flag with red stars on it? :D ) I've got to say that there isn't really anything to "learn" when using FTR. The first few times I tried to install it (a LONG time and many versions ago) it was a mission and I couldn't get it to work but if you read the instructions (takes maybe 5~10 mins?) and then install FTR I think you'll find it pretty straightforward. Having said that it sounds like you might not need the extra features it has anyway except for the ability to always record a certain programme - which is an awesome feature of FTR.... Just remembered something else I (kind of) use - I never get around to watching the News so I have FTR set to record it every day then automatically delete it after 2 days. Why do I do this? If I hear that say a volcano has blown up in some South American country (or whatever) the day after it was on the News I can go watch it :) To be fair I don't do this too often though because I think the Free to Air News we get in NZ is crap, it's like watching a magazine show (imho) so I generally use the internet for info and pics etc anyway (I use the InfoService/Newsfeed plugin a lot :) ) but on the odd occasion that I DO want to take a look at the News I can - I could live without this feature but I've got FTR so I don't have to :D
