Can I find a way to run MediaPortal on my 1997 S3 oldskool video card? (1 Viewer)

After a period of frustration, I noticed on the sys requirements page that MediaPortal only runs on systems with DirectX9 supported video cards (for some technical reason). Unfortunately my video card dates back to 1997 (and works perfectly well with normal 2D windows stuff, and playing movies, and outputing to TV via an RCA-out), and MP installs correctly, but displays a blank window and locks up on startup.

Does anyone know if there are any work arounds for getting MP to work on an old card, or am I forced to either buy a new card, or try another media center software package?

But MediaPortal looks so good!!! Bugger. :(

in the requirements you will also see that MP requires at least 64MB Video Memeory on your GFX card.
which yours surely does not have.

get a new DX9 gfx for €40,- (or less) and it works ;)
