Simple question, which I just can't find an answer to... Can you make the MP shutdown/standby (in particular standby) mode put the PC into standby without first shutting down Media Portal? It's incrediably annoying to have to fire up MP again once the machine comes out of Standby...

sure, that works. There have been some problems when sending to standby from within fullscreen TV but those are resolved since some weeks ...

You even can do more: using the Autostart plugin you can re-enter fullscreen TV after resuming. The first thing that I see from MP after a fresh start or after resuming is fullscreen TV.

thanks+regards

wewe - thanks for the reply. So this is a new enhancement since RC2? If so, excellent, I will just download the new version and be a happy camper!

Or do I have to fiddle a bit to make this work?

OK, I've finally had the time to install the latest version of MP.

Now MP does put the machine into standby without shutting itself down first... BUT when I come out of standby it shows Media Portal for a second or so and then the machine goes straight back into Standby...

Anyone know what can cause this?

How are you putting the machine into standby? Using the menu in MP or using a custom button with some remote control software (e.g. Girder or HIP)? Sometimes when you use a custom button, you may press the standby button for longer than you think so when it goes into standby, it thinks you're still pressing the button, so when it wakes up, it will process that and hence go back into standby.

Sa,

Thanks for the super quick reply.

I'm using a remote, and I've got the shutdown menu as the power button on the remote. When I press the power button on my remote, the Media Portal shutdown/Hibernate/Sleep/Restart menu appears. I select 'Sleep' and it sleeps.

Then I turn it on via the machine's power button, and it goes straight back to sleep again before I can do anything.

Most annoying!

I turn the pc on via the actual button on the front of the pc (haven't worked out how to do it via the remote).

The only other things running on the box are AVG virus scanner, and ZoneAlarm.

It was so close to working like I wanted too!
