Cannot change default view for movies (1 Viewer)

I'm using the xface skin. When i change the view from default to filmstrip in MP config, nothing happens.
In fact i tried all different views, no change.
I select movie folder/edit then the view i want. What am i doing wrong?

Does the view change in the GUI itself if you, left arrow to get menu, select top item layout, will it cycle through the various views, it should remember the last used view anyway, so if you exit with filmstrip showing, then filmstrip should be there the next time you enter.
