I've already tested without it, and it was unsuccessful.

Anyway I want to point out that the system goes into sleeping mode and wakes up successfully, but only one time.

There must be something else we've still undiscovered.

This is snatching in the dark here, but have you tried hibernate instead of sleep, that should eliminate any possible ram memory problem.

You won't believe me!

I've found it, after so much testing and configuring.

It's the "unleashing mode" setting of my multicore capable motherboard!

Asus describes it this way: "Enable Unleashing Mode to get FULL computing power of processor. [Warning!] System might become unstable due to different CPU overclocking margins."

After disabling such setting, the previous tests were successful!

In my opinion, there must be a compiler switch to make software compliant to this kind of "features".

I'll keep on testing, but as far as I've seen, all is running nicely NOW.

Well no one would of thought of that, have made a note of your answer and will keep a eye out in future for the same thing happening, another reason I would not buy anything made by Asus!!

Even if there is, the problem could be in hardware drivers that we have no control over.

At the end of the day, the setting warns you that it might make your system unstable. Apparently it did I don't think there is anything that we need to fix.
