Hello,

As a newb, I just thought I'd post my experience with getting a multiseat MP 1.0.2 install going. First, my server is a Vista Ultimate 64 machine with a Hauppauge 2250 card in it. Aside from seriously editing the IMDB file to get the TV guide to work with my cable provider's channel lineup, this install went rather well - I was watching TV in a day or two. The aMPed skin is awesome, by the way. I then moved on to a Windows XP Home box in another room that's attached to my TV - this is where I watch all my movies and such. At first I set this up without the TV Client plugin, and things couldn't be easier - I was watching movies from a media tank in no time. I then installed the Client plugin, and aside from being patient while the TV stream is buffered, it too went well - I could watch live TV, play recordings, etc. I then moved onto a third machine running XP Pro, and this is where everything ground to a halt. I got all the port errors everyone has mentioned, I searched high and low for answers, implemented as many solutions as I could to no avail, and pretty much assumed I was never going to get the second client going. Granted, I had no need to get it going, but it bugged me that one XP box worked and one didn't - after all, they were mostly the same. I then started to compare things, and what I noticed on the XP Home box is certain windows components where installed that weren't installed on the XP Pro box. Things like Peer-to-Peer, UPnP, etc. Could this be it? So, I made a note of the windows components that were on the the XP Home box, and simply updated the XP Pro box to match. Now don't ask me which component(s) made it work, but after the update (via Add/Remove Programs, Add/Remove Windows Components), my second client was working like a charm. Hope this helps someone.
