I have a major problem with tearing in my videos. I heard that if i enable Exclusive DirectX mode it will go away. My problem is that when i enable it, i can only view my movies in 'original source' not normal, so they are not full screen. Any suggestions?

Have you tried changing your video decoder? Give Dscaler a try, it's free, has lots of options, and looks very good.

Can you explain a little more what you're doing? These are Xvid movies that you are playing back with the built-in video player in MediaPortal? Do they play back correctly in Windows Media Player separately? You could also try an external video player, I use zoomplayer and it has a quick way to change your aspect ratio. I don't remember if MP can do this also, but it probably can.
