OK, I've been using MCE for about a year now and have given up on it. I installed Media Portal about two hours ago and I'm up and running and EXTREMELY impressed.

Is there a step by step guide available for getting MP to change the channels on my SKY Pace satellite decoder? I've looked around the forums and have tinkered with myblaster, but can't make any progress.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Providing your using a MCE2005 remote, all you need to do is attach one of the blaster 'eyes' to the from of the STB (in front of the IR receiver).

There used to be a pre-programmed remote code file floating around somewhere for those boxes that youll need (otherwise youll have to learn the codes yourself).

Once thats done, you need to add external channels to the channel list in configuration. Enter the channel numbers into the external channel number.

    Thats about it.

Thanks for your reply. Yes I am using an MCE2005 remote & IR Kit. I understand the MP channel configuration, but can't get the myblaster program to work.

I've downloaded different versions, dropped the exe into the MP directory and the dll into the process directory. Even if I enable the plug-in in MP, it never appears in my menu.

If I run the blaster.exe outside MP, the learn and test buttons are always greyed out.

    Hi,

Do you have a clone of the MCE remote/receiver? if so please describe the receiver as much as possible (how many blaster ports, what brand/type) and run blaster.exe with the /dump option and post the output (from the logfile) back here.

Get the latest myblaster version from [EDIT]: link removed; download from the plugin repository on the homepage now.

    Kind regards,
    Michel

It's a standard MCE remote and blaster. I can use the remote to operate MP, but not control the STB.

Here is the result of a dump:

    15/07/2006 2:14:03 p.m. Form1.LoadConfig: Could not find file 'C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\myblaster.dat'.
    15/07/2006 2:14:03 p.m. Device.FindDevice: \\?\usb#vid_03ee&pid_2501#mi000mop#{7951772d-cd50-49b7-b103-2baac494fc57}

I would have thought that the .dat file would be created as a result of the learn function, but if the learn button is greyed out, I'll never get there.

    Thanks for your ongoing assistance.

Update: I've just found this post, whereby the error was the same.

The only subtle different was that mine says mop# and their's was mopj#. Smirnoff did an update and I presume it got fixed.

Thank you scoop. This version worked. I nearly gave up, but then tried the 3rd port of my IR blaster and it worked. MP here we go!
