Can't play mov files (2 Viewers)

Dear all,
On my (Windows XP) PC, my *.mov files are played by MediaPlayerClassic without problems,
but MediaPortal keeps reporting:
unable to play blabla.mov video codec: jpeg audio codec: pcm
How do I convince MediaPortal to play my movs?
Sorry for this simple question, any help is wellcome. Regards, Hans.

After installing Haali media splitter AND QuickTime-alternative my MOV movies play perfectly!
- it only worked after I installed an old (2007) version of QTalternative.
- someone remarks: why would one want to play MOV files, only supported by Apple?
It seems that many modern cameras (eg: Panasonic) only produce MOV files...
