I am new to MediaPortal 2
Yesterday I include my music / movies catalog into the "Add media sources" (local)
Thereafter I try to open the Audio library – "No items display"
Thereafter I try to open the Browse media. To catalogs popping up
Musik and Movies – when I click on the Movies catalog – all my movies came up.
When I click on the Music catalog : "no items to display "
What am I doing wrong ?

Could you please use the Log-Collector (see icon on your desktop) and post the zip?

    Hello,

Thank you for posting the logs. Unfortunately the log level is set to INFO, which is limiting the amount of information. There is an error message but with limited surrounding information:

    [2015-10-27 17:38:59,707] [457660 ] [40 ] [INFO ] - MediaLibrary: Updating share '0a693764-8b44-47dc-b1c3-47552d83ad06': Setting name 'Music', base resource path '{e88e64a8-0233-4fdf-ba27-0b44c6a39ae9}:///C:/Music/' and media categories 'Audio'

Acording to this message your library cannot be reached because the respective share is offline. Does this make sense?

Currently there is no GUI option to define the log level and you will need to set this manually through editing the respective files. Please check out the explkanation given in the WIki: adjustung log levels for diagnostics. Change INFO to ALL, restart the server and try to reporduce the problem before collecting a new set of logs.

Not sure if I understand this correctly. You should not actually "run", i.e. execute the file but edit it using any editor, e.g. Notepad.exe. What trhe Wiki refers to is the fact that any change of files that reside in the program folder requires elevated privileges. This simply means that Windows will proimpt yopu for confirmation (if you are logged in with admin rights) or ask for admin credentials.

I try to edit the file by notepad, but I couldn't save it. Therefore I couldn't change INFO to ALL.

But I did not understand the below :

According to this message your library cannot be reached because the respective share is offline. Does this make sense?
Shall I open up the catalog for sharing ?

Launch notepad with admin rights and try again.

Shall I open up the catalog for sharing ?
The MP message that I posted tells you that the library, which you indicated, cannot be reached by MediaPortal. Is this a remote path on a NAS? Obviously the remote share needs to be up and running when MP wants to address the information. Can you elaborate a little bit more on this?

My media files are installed on my hardisk. The client and the server is on the same pc. My files for the movies catalog can be reached, but the music files cannot.
On this PC (laptop) I have no NAS connection

The only explanation that I have is that you did not correctly define the üath to your music files. Please verify the path definition and trigger a reread process.
