I run another test, where I use the Windows shutdown button. I label the evens with timestamps. I disabled all other programs running in the tray.
Date: 02.10.2007
12:48 Booting up PC.
12:49 MediaPortal starts about here.
13:00 12 min later. Clicking the Windows shutdown button. Nothing seems to happen. If i had some icon in tray they would close down when hovering mouse above them, except MP.
13:10 Right-click and exit MediaPortal on tray.
13:20 Clicking the Windows shutdown button again (this time the PC shuts down).
Let us do this systematicly. Please do the following:
0) Select in MP-Configuration under Gerneral -> Log-Level = Debug
1) delete everything in the log directory
2) start MP
3) after 3 min -> try a shutdown
4) wait 1 min
5) close MP
6) post all files in the log directory
This appears to be the latest thread on this topic.. Was this ever solved?
I have MP installed on 5 PC's around the house and I have to manually exit
MP on all of them before a windows shutdown works. I have 'minimize to tray
on exit' enabled on all of them and that's the configuration I want and I don't
see why this should cause MP to interfere with a windows shutdown..
Hi,
I got the same Problem.
Shutting down Windows after starting MediaPortal take a long long time.
Even when the application (the task) is closed, a process mediaportal.exe is still running. This process even cannot be killed!
I did NOT select the 'minimize to tray on exit'-option.
I'd like to know: How can I restart mediaportal without restarting windows?
