Hi, To all other people except Nefius: are you guys sure you're getting the same specific error? I.e. do you guys also get a
7-1-2006 1:11:30 mpeg2:FAILED to set streambuffer filename:0x80004005
in your MediaPortal.log? Because not being able to turn on TV can have many reasons. Please verify this in your MediaPortal.log. If you get the same error message then please post back in this thread. If not create your own thread (and include support template and logfile etc.) otherwise it's gonna be very difficult to help you out. Nefius: AFAIK this is not done by MP and I can't imagine why Windows would create a new directory by default with the read-only flag set. This doesn't really exaplain why it does work in RC1 though... Did you try to remove the read-only flag? Did you get an error? If yes, what error? Or did the read-only flag just re-appear? Did you try to remove the read-only flag by executing the following from a DOS box:
attrib -r "C:\Documents and Settings\Media PC" /s
Watch out: this will effectively remove the read-only flag from all files, folders and subfolders in that directory. BTW, to explain things a bit more: the live.tv file is only created as soon as the TV module is actually timeshifting. It should also be removed once timeshifting is stopped. The code "0x80004005" in the error message isn't the file it tries to create, but the error code (HRESULT code) returned by the function. Kind regards, Michel
