Hi all
I've been struggeling for a while to get a carPC for backseat entertainment running Kodi on a Raspberry. Never got to that smooth running phase where my 6 and 4 year old daugthers could operate the mediacenter on their own (meaning I won't have to stop to fix whatevers going down). So here's what I came up with...
It all started when i found the Mini-Box M3-ATX 12V power supply (http://www.mini-box.com/M3-ATX-DC-DC-ATX-Automotive-Computer-car-PC-Power-Supply), this ment I could scrap my Pi and go for x64. I opted for a Mini-Box M350 (http://www.mini-box.com/M350-universal-mini-itx-enclosure) chassi since it seemed like a nice fit with the power supply. An Asus N3150I-C (https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/N3150IC/) motherboard for it's low power consumption. A pair if cheap china made 12V HDMI monitors from Ebay (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/262456257781). Of course all the rest like SSD drive, headphones (wired with volume rocker on cord for individual volume), relay to power on monitors with ignition, power switches, HDMI-splitter etc. Worked out awesome and the kids love it since they're already familiar with MediaPortal from home Hey I'm just bragging right now but if anyones intrested I might find the time to write down the entire setup.
