MediaPortal Version: 0.2.3.0. RC3 MediaPortal Skin: BlueWin Windows Version: Windows XP / SP2 CPU Type: P4/ 2000 / Northwood Motherboard: ASUS Video Card: Ati 8500 Video Card Driver: Catalyst HTPC Case: AirCool M40 Remote: Costum Hi Everybody My first mail on this forum. First of all - I love MediaPortal and I want to thank everybody envolved developing it. I want to share a Problem I had. Took me 2 days to find a solution and apparently I'm the only person it ever happened to. Anyway, I just build myself a HTPC from old stuff I had laying around including an old ati 8500 which works just fine without any fan. I made a fresh install of windows XP / SP2 - updated it, installed ffdshow and CATALYST 6.11 driver. It's the last driver recomented by AMD/ATI for the 8500. Than I installed MediaPortal 0.2.3.0 RC3. Once everything was done I start Video playback which happens to be my main use for this machine (don't own a TV card). It started just fine but once I pressed any button - the COLOR of the picture turned greenish, redish, the blue's just disappeard, yellow turned gray a.s.o. just very strange and ugly. Problem persisted sometimes till restart, sometimes ofter switching OSD on/off it got back to normal. Long story short - it turned out to be a problem with the Video-Card-Driver. I unrolled Catalyst 6.11 installation back to the XP SP2 shipped ATI driver and problem was gone. I hope if somebody else searchs this Forum for the same problem he finds this usefull. Keep up the good work coders.
