Hi just did a fresh install of media portal 1.2.1 and my films 5
ran an import of all my films with amcupdater
the problem i am having is that it treats both cd1 and cd2 of my films as separate films meaning when browsing in mediaportal there are duplicates.

i have searched for a while now and cannot find a neat way to fix this, so decided to start a seperate thread.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Cheers
Matt.

    Hi Matt,

the settings in AMCupdaters to recognise multi part movies is on "Scan Path and Filters" tab, "Multi Part Files Detection".
If it does detect the way your multipart files are named, AMCupdater will automatically put those into one movie record (and adding size and length to the respective field).
If not, you might either adapt the settings mentioned above or change your file naming to solve it.

If you post an example of filenames that are not detected as multi part files, but should be, I (or other users being better with regex than me ;-)) can give you a tip for that setting.
I can also include it in future release as startup default value, as this might help other users too.

Re: AW: cd1 & cd2 showing up as two different films

    Hey mate
cheers for the quick response :)
I have my multipart files named as below

Big Trouble in Little China (1986) (CD1).avi
Big Trouble in Little China (1986) (CD2).avi

the current expression i have in the muti part section is below

    [-|_|.| +][cC][dD][0-9]|[-|_|.| +][dD][iI][sS][kKcC][0-9]|[0-9]of[0-9]

not sure what i need to add to make them import correctly

    cheers again
    Matt

    you can try this one:
    [-|_|.| +][cC][dD][0-9]|[-|_|.| +][dD][iI][sS][kKcC][0-9]|[0-9]of[0-9]|\([cC][dD][0-9]\)
I just added an expression matching your case.

    I have created the following Regex to add handling of 'Part' and 'pt' (a requirement that I had). While I was at it I made the following changes as well;

    - Added support for 2 digit cd numbers (ie Part 12 of 22).
    - Made the use of separators being - (DASH), _ (UNDERSCORE) and SPACE between each part of the string match between 0-2 times. Therefore it will match both 'Part1of3' as well as ' Part_-_12_of_13' or any combination of the 3 separators.

Hopefully someone else will be able to get some use of it also.

    [-_ ]{1,2}([cC][dD]|[dD][iI][sS][kKcC]|[pP]([aA][rR]){0,1}[tT])[-_ ]{0,3}([0-9]{1,2}[-_ ]{0,2}of[-_ ]{0,2}[0-9]{1,2}|[0-9]{1,2})

    Cheers

Thanks - if there is some feedback from more users, I could add this as default setting to the installer - so let me know, if everybody is fine with it...

    will
    [-|_|.| +][cC][dD][0-9]|[-|_|.| +][dD][iI][sS][kKcC][0-9]|[0-9]of[0-9]|\([cC][dD][0-9]\)
be added as default to my films 5.2?
As mentioned above, just waiting for some positive feedback from users that it is working fine and doesn't give false positives - will be added immediately after that ...
