    Hi,

I have been a MP user for some years and am now expanding to use Moving Pictures.

In that process I am importing my Movies, and have a question I could not find in the FAQ or Forum pages.

When I have run the scan, I have a list of mostly correct Movies (and now having moved from using IMDB, as I am English but live in Sweden, I do not get forced Swedish titles) but I have large numbers of similar movies, say Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, which are not picked up until I change the search keywords to just that title without the series name as well.

As I have many sets of films like this, is there a way of selecting say the 20 files and modifying the keywords so that change is made for all selected movies, without the change box popping up for each and every file ?

    Thanks,
    nick

What scraper script are you currently using then? TheMovieDb? IMDb+?

I actually skipped the Indiana Jones series for MovingPictures in the IMDb+ rename database, because it has a full entry at TheTVdB website. So you really might want to consider using MP-TVSeries to index both the original TV-Series and the full-feature re-edit into the made-for-TV series.

Original series = The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles: Complete Episode List
Remade feature series = The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones: Complete Episode List

    Hi,

Many thanks for the reply, I was reviewing My TV Series and installed after your advice.

WOW, great extension, just like Moving Pictures, awesome for the series and fixed the issues my single brain cell had conjured up ;)

I also changed the setting in Moving Pictures to use TheMovieDB from IMDB and got all English titles and summaries.

    Moving Pictures for Movies
My TV Series for, surprisingly enough, TV Series

    :D

That's the beauty of open source and the APIs that MediaPortal and other MediaPortal plugins offer up, so that other plugins can tap into them and extend their capabilities.

For example the Trakt plugin extends MovingPictures and MP-TVSeries ability to communicate with the trakt.tv website and add cool stuff such as recommendations, etc. There are plugins for a lot of cool stuff, either directly, or as expansion for others. Check out the cool blog otherwise MediaPortal Blog, where you can for example read the 'While You Were Sleeping: Plugins #2' (or the 1st one) to get some info on plugins put into the spotlight. There are also blog entries on skins and other cool stuff.

I ended up doing the same with IMDb+, to extend MovingPictures ability to auto-rename the movie titles, so that film series group together. So if you for example have the James Bond movie series in your collection, then you do not have to jump to the letter 'D' to find the first movie "Dr. No", and you won't have to then jump to the letter "Q" to watch "Quantum of Solace", but they will all be under the letter "J" for "James Bond I: Dr. No" and "James Bond XXII: Quantum Of Solace".

Or keep using TheMovieDb, because that's the beauty of an open system, you can adjust it so it is perfect for you
