Change of screen resolution during playback in native resolution possible? (1 Viewer)

While having a new LCD TV with 1080p resolution with a nice and shiny AV-Receiver, I got now issues with the processor load for all scaling & post processing by the PC.

If possible, I would like to transfer the task for upscaling to the AV-receiver now, but this requires to deliver the video material in its source format (or better in accepted source formats by the AV Receiver)

Is it somewhere/somehow possible to initiate a screen resolution change at playback, switching to the source resolution - something which is maybe similar to whats available for the framerate change?

I doubt it, but at least I can ask.

It's a pretty old thread and I'm sorry that I dig it out of it's grave - but I do have the same question regarding resolution change..

And I do have the same - I just bought an A/V amplifier capable of upscaling anything anyway, and would like to let it do the job rather than doing it on the PC...
