    Hi gyus!

After a long search and trying several codecs and settings, I managed to play live TV and Videos without any stuttering with RC2 (two Scenic PC connected via DLan).

Since i upgraded to 1.0, I've no chance to get the same result on those clients (I've tried different codecs, relaxtsreader...txt etc.). About 10- 30 sec normal viewing and then for 1-3 sec. stuttering ...

Which changes in TV Server may produce this errors? Is it possible to use the tsreader and writer that comes with RC2?

    Maybe another streamingserver.dll??

Is there any other workaround? It's really annoying and I don't want to switch back to RC2.

Hi, for me Mediaportal is the only application wich is capable of changing the power setting for Windows. My systems normally runs at 1000 MHz but should go up to 2400 MHz when things get busy like playing HD content. MP is the ONLY program wich can hold my system down to 1000 MHz, so it is interfering with the cool 'n quit function for AMD processors.

Don't ask me why and how, I have this problem on three different AMD machines and NOT on any (four) Intel machines.

Check your power settings in the configuration panel and make sure you get all the processesing power you need.

And check it every now and than 'cause MP can change it.

Hi and thanks for your reply.

While switching from RC2 to 1.0 I didn't change anything on the client side (hardware, driver etc.). So I'm pretty sure, there shouldn't be a hardware, codec or driver problem.

But I never revised my power settings (CPU). I'll take a closer look later at home.

Did you sort out your stuttering issues ??
When i updated to 1.0, i also updated to Vista to take advantage of EVR but i have had nothing but stuttering when watching live tv or recorded tv.
I have 2 clients running the same software ( different hardware ) and both suffer from this.
I had no problems with XP Pro and MP RC3..

    cheers

    Hi!

Did you sort out your stuttering issues

    Yes and No ...

One thing I noticed is, that the cpu usage sometimes is jumping to 100%. This is the reason for my stuttering i think.

The Client is a Siemens Scenic 1,7 GHz with an Nvidia , XP Prof SP3, and 2 Gig Ram (Not a high performance PC ok, but it really should be good enough). There's no other software running and with RC2 I've had no problem at all.

First I disabled Zone Alarm firewall (vsmon.exe eats a lot of performance), less stutter but not really gone.
The german channel ARD (Highest bitrate, SD channel) now needs about 75 to 80% cpu usage!? (95% before)

This evening I'll take a closer look on the plugins, disable them all and try to find out, which part of MP eats so much performance.

... more if I finally sort out my stuttering ...

    Hi,

I have the same problem with stuttering, every 2-3 minutes stuttering in video and sound for 1-2 sec.
    What i found out is:
    * stuttering when i watch LiveTV (use TVClient)
    * stuttering when i watch a recording while recording is active (use TVClient)

    * no stuttering when i watch a film over the video menu
    * no stuttering when i watch a recording while recording is active, when i watch it over the video meu.
(I have add the recording Path and folder in the video setup)

So i think it can't be a network problem, because only when i watch over TVClient Plugin the stuttering is there.

I use MP since 1 year with same hardware and software and have no stuttering until Version RC2.

    Hi Andreas!

Please try following workaround, maybe this solves your problems.

Built a simple, empty RelaxTsReaderForBadReception.txt file and put it in c:
You can take a look in the tsreader log, to be sure it is in use.

For me it wont work, but a lot of guys are lucky with this solution. Give it a try.

If you want to read more about this workaround, take a look HERE.
