    Hi guys,

I currently have a Antec Fusion HTPC case with LCD display and IR receiver built in. I currently use the iMON software and RM200 remote that came with the case. Most of the remotes buttons work and I don't really have any gripes about it EXCEPT for the large, bulbous control knob in the centre of the remote. Using this to FF or RW is really hit and miss as it is so sensitive I tend to try not using it. I would ideally like to substitute the whole remote unit for something better, but what do I substitute it for?? I still want to use the built in IR receiver and would like a hassle free install.

Any suggestions as to what I should go for?

    Many thanks,

    M.

Use a Logitech Harmony (i use a 555). The remote provide profiles for the iMon Pad RM200 remote and MCE remote, which also works with the built in receiver.

Thanks for the quick response - that does look like a nice remote! Will my GF understand it though??

The MCE looks simpler and more GF friendly - and this works with the built in receiver too?? (I suppose I would have to remap the iMon software for the MCE remote though??)

    Thanks,

    M.

Yes, an MCE remote also works. You have to change the remote in iMon software. Please check this point, because some older receiver types don't support the MCE profile. Then you can't activate this remote in iMon software. Then you have to remap the buttons.

Thanks for that Netexplorer, I did go and check the iMon software and it allows me to use the following:-

    iMon Pad
    iMon mini
    MCE remote

I didn't realise this - but I don't tend to mess with the iMon software.

    eBay here I come!!

    Thanks again,

    M.
