Channel switching, how fast is it on your config? (1 Viewer)

I installed the TV-server and MP on a HTPC a few days ago. Everything worked fine (after I found out I had to manually enter the frequencies for my analog TV in the server), but I found channel switching was quite slow: about 7 seconds. CPU was also quite high during the channel change. The machine is a Athlon64 3000 and has 512MB internal memory and a onboard X300 graphics. The TV-card is a PVR150MCE (analogue).

Anyone else is getting these slow channel changes?

Yes, I've tried the TVServer too and zapping takes a long time...

Yes, channel changing seems to be a problem in some cases.

It seems to be a problem at the client side, at least in my case. If I use the TvServer Management Console and zap to a channel, channel switching is almost instant when run locally (console + server on same PC) so it seams that the problem is not caused by the server...

And yes, if channel switching is slow, the MP Client takes 100% CPU for some reason.

Client & Server on the same machine: channel switching takes one second or less.

Same hardware with old MP about 7 seconds. So, tv server 3 has solved all my problems, maybe you can post a log file for developers.

The problem is under the attention of the devs, but Frodo can't reproduce it AFAIK.

I would say, create a bugreport, so it won't be lost and if solved it wil be given the status fixed...

I'll first wait a while and then I'll try again with a newer version. If I still get the same error, I will report it.

switching on my system is even faster compared to the (very very good) 0.2.1.
was about 2 seconds, now <=1 second!
