I have searched and did not see an issue relating to mine so here it goes.

If the channel is changed to one listed under the 950Q or the Colossus while the Colossus is recording, MP allows the channel to change. It does not give the message or warning that recording will be stopped. In addition, when changing channels to the analog channels mapped to the 950Q the Colossus card sends the message to the set-top-box to change channels as well.

Is there something in the settings that I have missed. I have the same channels mapped to two different cards so they should not be changing in tandem.

Any insight or help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

I have a zip file full of logs. Anyone one more in particular?
All logs, and specify time and channel name of a particular channel.

    Having said that...

Presumably you've merged some channels that can be received in different ways - analog cable via the 950Q and digital (encrypted) cable/satellite via the Colossus?
    If so, that won't work.

To TV Server, an analog channel is an analog channel... and any analog tuner can receive that channel. In other words, TV Server will think it can tune your analog cable channels with the Colossus and your captured input with the 950Q.
[edit: Of course to us it is obvious that is wrong... but my point is that there is no way to configure TV Server to understand this. You can't merge such channel sources, and you have to be careful to only link the right channels to each "tuner".]

Ok, here are the logs. It happened yesterday between 4:50 and 5:00 p.m. CST. MP was recording channel 35 and was changed to channel 13.

    Hello again

It seems to be as I suspected.

You merged/created this channel from two sources. The Colossus receives the channel via component + S/PDIF inputs; the 950Q receives it as a straight analog cable channel (channel 13).

When you configure/create a channel like this, you're telling TV Server that both the Colossus and 950Q can receive the channel either via tuning channel 13 or via component + S/PDIF. To be clear, TV Server thinks it can tune this channel by tuning channel 13 with the Colossus (which obviously does not have a tuner) or by selecting component + S/PDIF inputs with the 950Q (which obviously doesn't have those inputs). It seems obvious to us as humans that this is not possible, but TV Server is software with limitations. One of those limitations is that it is not possible to merge analog cable channels with capture source channels.

Sorry, but what you've tried to do can't be done.

Yep, The way the TV Server config is setup I thought that was what I was supposed to do. So do I just create two separate lists or are there settings that should be changed? The only other way I can think off is to have two separate lists, channels 1-99 on the 950 and 1-99 on the colossus which is going to double the size of my guide. If this is the case, is there a way to "unmerge" what I merged or do I have to go back and delete everything manually?

Thank you for your help. I'm switching from Beyond TV and MP is so much better.

Yes - having separate channels is the only possibility for you, and yes this will double the size of your guide. There are no settings that can be changed. Sorry, this is a TV Server limitation that can't be worked around.

Sorry, you have to start from scratch with the channels because there is no way to unmerge.

Ok, separated the channels. The channels controlled by colossus are listed as Analog just like the channels for the 950Q. I have not tested it yet because I did it late last night. Is this going to cause the same problem or will I be safe because they are not grouped?
