Chapter skipping (my videos) (1 Viewer)

Hi,
I have numerous music DVD's encoded in .mkv containers with chapters muxed. How do I utilise these chapter stops instead of the built in skip steps in 'my videos'?. It would make it easier to skip a song if each chapter is the length of a song.Matroska splitter is installed.

same thing here. ive got tons of blu-ray muxed with chapters and no way to use them in mediaportal. works fine in mpc.

Have you tried using ComSkip files?
I have lots of music DVDs ripped as avi/divx files. I wrote a program that can extract the chapter info from the DVD and create a ComSkip file automatically (can obviously be made manually too) that will enable MediaPortal to jump to chapter points. Name it the same as the video file and put it in the same directory as the avi file and you can skip to the beginnings of chapters (or songs) just like a DVD.

The structure of a ComSkip file is such that if the start and end time of each chunk is the same, ComSkip will act like chapters on a DVD.

Another way to achieve chapter management with mkv files is by re-defining the F7 and F8 shortcuts in Fullscreen Video mode. You just have to define two new shortcuts assigned to F7 and F8 triggering ACTION_NEXT_CHAPTER and ACTION_PREV_CHAPTER, et voilà !
