Cheap MCE Remote (USB) (1 Viewer)

Can anyone point me in the direction of a thread to configure my cheap no name MCE remote?

I have been reading through all your forums for days, and looks like there are 1000's of questions like this but no guides.

From what i can tell, i need a program that maps my remote to my keyboard keys (Then to MediaPortal)
However i can only see Winlirc and that does not support USB.

Sorry that this has been asked so much.. But if i get it working i will make a Setup guide and get my PA to make a PDF. (My small contribution towards such a great program - Great work!. Oh and whoever made the TV Series Plugin, YOU ROCK, just what i needed.)

Try IrServer suite and see if that will do what you want.

OK OK, i must be missing something....

I tried using the above program but it seems to only be for blasting.

what i need is a program that records my USB Remote control buttons to keyboard presses, or a pluging that records my USB Remote control signals to something recognisable by Media Portal.. considering there are not a billion posts with users complaining that they can not use there remote, i come to the conclusion i am stoopid and missing something...

Now Now, no cheap shots

But anyone know how i do this?

MCE remotes are being supported out of the box, or am I wrong? In the configuration there is a page called "remotes" and then a sub-section for MCE remotes.

MCE remotes are supported & some MCE clones i dunno if yours are, just use latest SVN & open MP configuration -> remote -> enable MCE , if it doesn't work enable extended logging( in the same place as you enabled the MCE remote) & attach your MediaPortal.log to your post...
