    Hi,
I'm not really sure this is a media-portal issue, but I have no idea where else to ask.
I have a CIR hooked up to my htpc. I use a Logitech Harmony One remote, setup as a MCE remote.
When the computer is hibernating, the power-on, on the remote, wakes it up fine, BUT, once it is awake, it doesn't respond to any commands from the remote.
The only solution seems to be to reboot the computer.

Any ideas what could cause this?

I ran with the exact same setup, (except for a harddrive replacement) with the old MP (1.1 I think), and there were no problems.

Presumably the up/down/left/right buttons work on other applications? If so when it stops responding does the remote work anywhere?

Which CIR receiver do use? I have got one recently for a second HTPC but not had chance to really test it yet

Nope, once it fails, it totally fails. Pressing the off button, doesn't shut the computer down (hibernate).
It isn't everytime, that this happens. Maybe 8/10 times (almost everytime).

I got the CIR off Ebay. No particular brand. I assume the guy who sells them, makes them himself, but what do I know.

It have worked fine before, but after my harddrive crashes, I re-installed, and upgraded MP, and the problem began.

Are you sure that your receiver isnt connected to a USB Port? where have you plugged it in? RS232?
Every CIR that i found on Ebay has to be plugged in on a Internal USB Port on the Mainboard!!!

    This one: http://www.ebay.de/itm/IR-Receiver-w-Cable-for-Intel-CIR-Media-Extreme-MBs-/230648964964?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item35b3bfe764

CIR is definitely a separate header. Quoting from that Ebay page
This is a partial list of motherboards that have a CIR header and will work with this receiver and any R6 or MCE remote.

k didnt really know what CIR is...but i found some CIR Ports on Mainboards who gets the voltage from USB Ports beside the CIR Connectors and other CIR Ports who can turned into a normal USB Port via BIOS Setting. For example ASRock Mainboard.
If thats the same way your CIR port is powered you may have a problem with the USB power supply during Standby or after resume?

I don't know if it is just a USB port, but it is marked as CIR on the MB, not USB.

I'll give that program a try though, and see if it works.

It's just funny, that it works when it is on standby. When the computer is sleeping, and I press start on the remote, it wakes up fine.
It isn't untill it is ready again, that it stops working. Rebooting the machine then fixes it.
